You plan to buy a Laptop mainly for:

ERP Applications, Financial package, huge XL Sheets,
Major data processing, video editing, program development, etc., apart from regular features like browsing
the internet, chatting online and Office Suite applications. |

Routine net access and office suite applications. |
| c. |
Mainly e-mail and some internet browsing. |

Processing Power and Specifications:

It should match any regular Desktop, with a large
display and ergonomic Keypad and Mouse pad. |

It should give me the latest in mobile computing and be
reasonably powerful to view multimedia files, use Office suite applications and browse the net. Bluetooth,
Web Cam, etc are not essential. |

Frankly, they don’t matter as long as I can access the internet
and email on the move. Since some of the locations I travel to may not have WiFi or Broadband, I need a
Modem to connect. |

Major Functionality:

This is my main computer. |

A supplement to my main computer – mostly used when I am at home
or travelling. |

Desirable, but not really essential. Most of the
tasks on this Laptop will be done offline |

Importance of Portability/Mobility:

Not extremely important; while the Laptop should be
easy enough to carry, I do not plan to carry it around too often; and in any case I travel in a Car. |

Extremely important; I intend to carry it around almost
everywhere with me. I need to refer to it often during my visits within the city and also make
presentations. |

Critical; I will depend on it to keep me in touch with the rest
of the world even when I am travelling and it is preferable that it come with a smart carrying pouch and
lightweight adaptor to reduce my baggage weight. |

Data Transfer Methods:

The more the better – DVD Burner, HDMI, USB (option
to increase the number of USB Ports), Memory Cards, etc. |

Mainly DVD Writing and USB Devices. Memory Card would be an
advantage. |

Only via the Net – through mails etc. |

Battery back-up:

2-3 hours is ideal – though I will be near a power
source most of the time. |

Not critical as I will be using it in Airports and Hotel Rooms –
however should the need arise I should be able to use it for 2 hours when I am on the road. |

Multimedia Capability:

Quite a Lot - I will be gamming, watching films and
doing major presentations on it. Also developing/using Graphical Programs. |

Not So Much – This is mostly for Office work. Should be able to
do routine Power Point Presentations. |

None Required – This Laptop device will be used mainly for
viewing text. |

Peripheral Devices:

YES – I will connect multiple devices like a printer,
scanner, projector, etc. This Laptop will more or less replace my Office Desktop and would also like to
connect to my printer and scanner at home. |

Very Few. Most of the time, this Laptop will be functioning as a
supplement to my main Desktop. However it should have sufficient USB Ports in case I do need to use them
occasionally. |

NO – I will use this as a stand-alone Laptop, except for
emergencies. Only Modem and Wireless are important. |
